Courchevel: the Alpine jewel

Located in Savoie in the French Alps, Courchevel is an internationally renowned ski resort known for its mountain luxury. Thanks to a combination of a bold vision from elected officials and a commitment to excellence, it has become a must-visit destination for ski enthusiasts and travellers in search of a unique alpine experience. Now made up of 6 villages (Saint-Bon, Le Praz, La Tania, Courchevel Village, Moriond and Courchevel 1850), you'll find a blend of tradition and contemporary luxury in every district.

More than 77 years of experience

The creation of the resort of Courchevel dates back to 1946, when the town of Saint-Bon ceded its land to the Savoie department for a ski resort construction project. But before this date, skiers were already going to climb the peaks in seal skins. It is at the end of the Second World War that the development of the station takes a new breath. The very first ski lift in Courchevel Moriond was created in 1945, the Saint Agathe. Because the safety of the ski slopes has always been a priority, the resort has made a point of honor on the quality of maintenance to enjoy the area from the first snowflakes.

Today, Courchevel has become an international reference in high-end ski resorts. Thanks to its desire for innovation and customer satisfaction, it has always been very demanding in the construction of its accommodations, its shops and its services.

Country of art and history

The Ministry of Culture has awarded the resort the label “Pays d'Art et d'Histoire des Hautes Vallées de Savoie”®. This label rewards destinations that preserve, enhance and enliven their territory. It is in this context that in 2023, Courchevel organized “Art at the top”, a veritable open-air museum. At each arrival of ski lifts, skiers could observe pieces of artists, in an exceptional natural setting.
