Les Arcs - Arc 1950
Nestled in Savoie in the Tarentaise Valley, Les Arcs is a must-see destination for winter sports enthusiasts. It has evolved over the years to become a leading ski destination, offering a perfect blend of mountain tradition and modern amenities.
An avant-garde architecture
A bold fusion of forms and functions, Les Arcs is a veritable architectural revolution. Designed by visionary architect Charlotte Perriand in collaboration with urban planner Roger Godino, the resort is a captivating example of avant-garde architecture that has redefined the standards of alpine design and living. The main objective of this innovative architectural project was to create a ski resort integrated into its natural environment while providing a modern and comfortable living experience. However, what really distinguishes Les Arcs is their break with the architectural conventions of the time.
Symbiosis between man and the mountain, the concept of the resort is based on the creation of a harmony between the buildings and the natural contours of the land. Charlotte Perriand introduced raw concrete as a central element of her architectural vision. This bold choice gave rise to unique geometric structures, characterized by sharp angles and clean lines, offering a resolutely modern aesthetic.
The creation of the village of Arc 1950
The creation of Arc 1950 dates back to the 2000s, when the Les Arcs resort decided to develop a new village within the resort. The goal was to build a place that would blend harmoniously into the alpine landscape, while providing a high level of comfort and luxury for visitors. To do this, a group of renowned architects was commissioned to design this extraordinary village.
Arc 1950 stands out for its idyllic setting and its exceptional panorama of Mont Blanc. Innovative, this village resort entirely pedestrian allows the departure skis to the feet, so that nothing comes to disturb your ski stay. A true alpine cocoon, Arc 1950 attracts visitors from all over the world every year. Architectural masterpiece, village that seems straight out of an alpine fairy tale. The stone and wooden buildings fit perfectly into the surrounding mountainous landscape. Slate roofs, flowered balconies and cobbled streets create an authentic and warm atmosphere.
In addition to its exceptional aesthetics, Arc 1950 offers a full range of services and amenities for visitors. Quality restaurants, elegant boutiques, relaxing mountain spas and relaxation areas are all reasons why visitors choose to stay in this unique alpine village.
