In the 19th century, Pralognan was a very busy village to reach Italy due to its geographical position for the Salt and Beaufort route. In 1860, the highest point of the Vanoise massif (the Grande Casse 3 855m) was reached by two mountaineers. At the end of the 19th century, Pralognan-la-Vanoise attracted more and more holidaymakers and mountaineering enthusiasts and in 1881, the Compagnie des Guides was created. By 1911, the winter clientele was growing and in 1937 the first ski lift was built. As for the Vanoise Park, it was created in 1963 with the aim of protecting the fauna and flora present on the territory. Access to Pralognan-la-Vanoise

Then, you only have 27 km to go on the D915. To access by train, the Moûtiers SNCF railway station provides shuttles to Pralognant, in summer and winter.
